There is no one hundred percent protection against the corona virus. But the risk of infection can be significantly reduced with simple measures. Important to know: The virus is transmitted as a droplet infection. The smallest droplets are expelled when sneezing, coughing and speaking. If they come into contact with other people’s mucous membranes, they can transmit the disease. The highest risk is with direct contact between people. Indirect infection via objects is also not excluded.

  1. Limit contacts: Every time you meet others there is a risk of getting infected or spreading the virus.
  2. Keep your distance: If possible, do not get closer to other people than two meters – even when shopping.
  3. Do not speak directly: Even if it may seem rude, turn your head slightly away from the other party.
  4. Sneeze and cough etiquette : hands away from your mouth and nose. Sneeze and cough only in the crook of the elbow or in disposable tissues. Then wash your hands. Even a full-face protection can contribute to the coronavirus that slowly spread.
  5. Do not shake hands: do not shake hands. A friendly greeting is enough.
  6. Wash hands carefully: it takes about 30 seconds to wash your hands thoroughly. Moisten hands under running, lukewarm water. Use soap and soap your hands thoroughly – also between your fingers and on the surface. Rub about 20 seconds. Rinse off soap thoroughly and dry hands.   9. Do not eat with your fingers: Do not put food in your mouth with your fingers – no candy, no piece of cake, no bratwurst. It is better to use cutlery or a napkin.
  10. Shopping carts, doorknobs and railings: Corona viruses, which could have got onto these surfaces via droplets, do not remain active for long. Gloves or disinfection when shopping are usually not necessary. But especially important on the way: do not touch your face with your hands, wash your hands when you return to the apartment.
  11. Avoid travel and public transport: only make essential trips and avoid public transport, especially because of the encounter with other travelers.
  12. Clean your smartphone: Bacteria and viruses collect especially on the display. Caution: Liquids containing alcohol can attack the surface. This also applies to many hygiene wipes. Use only agents without alcohol and do not wipe too wet. Dry cleaning is better than none.
